Matthew 5:8 says we are to openly examine and confess our faults to ourselves, to God and to someone we trust. Your heart is like a warehouse. It receives inventory. It repackages the items then it sends them back out into the world. What is in your heart warehouse? It is time to clean out your warehouse.

Here's a faith conversation between Shan and Sammy about faith, action, and generational blessings.
It's our first go at - well, at something different. Since we couldn't meet this week, we took a shot at something we'd been talking about for a while. It's a work in progress, like we all are, so enjoy it in that spirit.
This went a little longer than we had planned, but the conversation had such a natural flow and there wasn't really much to cut. There was one pretty good blooper early in the recording (maybe you'll see it one day) but that helped shake off the nerves and everyone settled in.
Even if this is a little too much to sit and watch at one time, you can put it on while your hands are busy with something else and listen in.
Special thank you to Sammy Hodges, the Senior Pastor at Ashville UMC and Evergreen UMC, for offering insight on today's topic!

Shan and Sammy talk about faith, recovery, and everyday life as they break down the short version of the Serenity Prayer...
God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen

As Shan and David prepared to have a faith talk about the Moral Recovery Lesson and Lamentation 3, God nudged them to talk more about the Lament process and what it looks like on a personal level, community level, and how to lean on God during our times of Lament. We hope you receive God's peace through listening to our talk.

Shan is joined by Sammy as they talk about DENIAL... the first step to making a change is coming out of denial about our situation and facing reality. You can escape the spiderweb called denial. God has plans to make you prosper. It is important to know who we are because of Whose we are.

Shan is joined by Steve and David as they talk about a solid support system. Stressors in life can set the ball rolling down the hill toward a relapse. We need a strong and solid support system to help us see how our past actions brought us to our current situation and where it can lead in the future. For a successful journey down life's highway, where stressors can be like landmines, we need a solid support system made up of our Sponsors, Accountability Partners, and Spiritual Family.
