In recovery, we have sponsors and accountability partners. If we are going to be honest, this is not just something for people who struggle with addiction. Accountability is Biblical! If we are really going to be honest then we are all in recovery (or should be in recovery) from this life of sin! It was three o’clock. Jesus called for water. He could hardly speak. A soldier fixed a sponge on a spear and held it up to his lips. It was terribly bitter but it was enough. He strained to raise his head and look up to heaven. "It is finished," he cried and then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. I encourage you to read the full chapter of John 19.

On this day, there are 4 events that we need to remember. The first is the Last Supper. Next is the foot washing. Then we have the Prayer in Gethsemane and finally the arrest of Jesus. There is something else that we do not talk about much but tonight would begin the beatings that Jesus would endure as the illegal "trial" would begin.

As this episode is posted, we are two weeks away from Good Friday. It is a day when the ultimate gift of Love was given. We have distorted the meaning of Love. Some people are not ready to hear the true definition of Love and they are surely not ready to apply it to their lives! So, what does Love gotta do with it? It has EVERYTHING to do with EVERYTHING in this life!
